So what are the 5 key things you have to know about Copper Baths?

Heat maintaining Copper Baths

1.) They hold the heat!

Contrary to popular belief Copper baths warm up quickly and retain heat much more effectively than most alternative bath materials. Copper and Brass are both exceptional conductors which in this unique situation actually works in the bathtubs favour 😉 As the tub fills with water the heat permeates through the copper to give a glorious all-over warmth but requires very little energy to do so, keeping all that lovely heat circulating through the the water. In comparison with a cast iron bath the Copper or Brass will maintain the heat for much, much longer. Even after the water has been drained away our baths remain warm for an hour or so.

Copper Baths that maintain their shine

2.) All William Holland maintain their shine!

Basic raw copper baths patinate extremely quickly. They react with air and moisture to create a dark bronze tone. Wax WILL NOT protect your finish as it melts at a lower temperature than most bath water, polish will rinse off…. And no one wants to be bathing in a sea of wax and polish. However William Holland baths are completely unique and come protected with a clear, baked on hard wearing compound that completely seals the copper and prevents any patination from developing. Perfected throughout our 25 year history this unique technique means it takes no effort at all to maintain your Copper Bath. We have done all the hard work so you don’t have to. So in answer to the above… YES a William Holland Copper Bath will maintain its shine with no need for any elbow grease, waxing or polishing of any kind. corrosion resistant Copper Baths

3.) They are corrosion resistant so can even be used outdoors!

Copper is a natural element and as such is corrosion resistant and cannot rust. This is just one of the reasons why copper is such an amazing bath material.

Crafted from sustainable sources, this amazing metal can be formed into stunning sculptural bathtubs that will last several lifetimes. In fact Copper is so durable, that a copper bathtub really is an investment piece for life.

Light weight Copper Baths

4.) They are light in weight!

Their solid appearance and structural nature give a sense of gravitas and statement that implies a heavyweight tub. However on average our copper baths weigh only 45kg!

5.) They are made primarily from sustainably sourced copper

Copper is an inherently eco-friendly material. As a natural element it has an infinite life-cycle meaning it can be repurposed without any loss of purity or its amazing properties. Not that we could ever imagine you wishing to recycle one of our beautiful baths… but if you did, (gasp!) it could be re-fashioned for a million different functions with infinite possibility.
