Dating back to 1274, Elmore Court is a stunning 750 year old family owned country house treasure, tucked away in the heart of the magical Gloucestershire countryside.
Grand, stately and secluded, without a single ounce of pretension, Elmore Court is a welcoming gem of a destination; a luxurious and utterly enchanting home from home.
Specialising in weddings and all manner of extraordinary events, the fantastic team combined with a dazzling setting and penchant for celebration, creates a truly unique venue infused with creativity and enthusiasm.
Beyond the grand façade, lies an interior full of original character with all the luxury of contemporary touches. Eight magnificent en-suite bedrooms and four reception rooms are available for guests as well as the private grounds and award winning ‘Gillyflower,’ named in homage to Elmore’s Medieval heritage when the original rent was ‘The Clove of one Gillyflower’ each year! Built for dining, drinking and dancing, the Gillyflower is a social masterpiece, where outside, guests can relax around a roaring fire pit or dance beneath the stars and candlelit trees.
The Oak Room is one of the favourites at Elmore. Packed full of ancestral antiques many of the furnishings chronicle the narrative of the house. The incredible four poster bed bearing the family crest dates from 1636, and the Elizabethan fireplace was inspired by the travels of a certain Anselm Guise who in 1593 was granted a passport by none other than Elizabeth I to travel to the new world. Set against the stunning dusky cobalt blue and deep oak of the historic panelled walls stands an opulent freestanding Copper bath. Gleaming against the sophisticated tones the copper bath stands proudly on its very own custom made stage adding that perfect element of glamour for those bridal preparations.
‘Anselm Guise, the current owner of Elmore Court had always wanted a copper bath and was recommended to contact William Holland. He felt that a freestanding, shining copper bath in a really prominent position would work wonderfully, and he was right – it certainly provides the wow factor as you enter the room’ – Rachel Terrett
‘We love the beautiful freestanding copper bath and so do all the guests that stay here!’ – Anselm Guise
If all this wasn’t enough…have we mentioned Elmore’s locally sourced, homegrown culinary delights? And don’t get us started on the wine cellar!
For a truly magical, intimate and unique venue Elmore Court is unsurpassed. With its rare heritage, fabulous narrative and warm welcome, inviting you to make life lasting memories here, who wouldn’t want to become part of their story.
