Emblem Hotel – Merging the past, present and future of iconic design

Inspired by the buildings turn of the century art deco heritage, the Emblem Hotel is a masterpiece of sensitive renovation and design. Classic details, historic materials and contemporary touches merge seamlessly to create a romantic and creative space, at once luxurious but gloriously liveable.

Head designer Alison McNeil incorporated this aspirational city into every detail of the design, managing to capture Prague’s unique sense of magic, history and warmth in a homely environment. Catering for business travellers to locals, families and couples alike, Alison created a truly unique sense of community and welcome. The rooms themselves range from luxurious doubles with bespoke furnishings throughout including customised lamps by Clancy Moore, to pied-a-terre’s with their own private Juliet balconies overlooking the Gothic rooftops of Old town, to the Atelier studio, centred on the arts and creativity adorned with personally selected artworks and designed to awaken the artist within you.

However, it is their signature suite ‘The Library’ that is the most sumptuous and inspiring of all. A truly unique space, the suite has its own exclusive library filled with hand selected volumes on everything from art and literature through to science and politics. A haven for writers and thinkers, a typewriter sits next to the glorious open fireplace in the private living space amongst a sultry colour palette of charcoal greys and deep purples lifted by the warm accents of the natural oak floors and copper details. The grand master attic bedroom is accessed via a secret passageway, revealing a decadent space, within which the large freestanding William Holland copper bath takes centre stage. Stunningly highlighted against the deep Byzantium purples and placed on a marble plinth co-ordinating with the solid marble shower enclosure and vanity units, the overall effect is both luxuriously stunning and exclusively homely.

The list of creatives and world class designers who have contributed to the creation of the Emblem is endless, from the artworks that adorn the walls, including commissioned illustrations by Czech due Tomski & Polanski, right down to the staff uniforms by leading designer Jakob Polanka, every tiny detail is infused with style and imagination.

With a home-from-home ethos permeating the very fabric of the hotel there is no doubt that the Emblem is a very special destination. Situated in one of the most iconic cities in the world, this cultural hub encouraged by the grand social spaces where guests can exchange traveller’s tales, explore and debate over a glass of fine wine, all serve to connect and unite through the beauty of community and spirit.
