North Star Club – Woodland Wonderland

Luxury woodland retreat ‘The North Star Club’ is an ethereal wonderland, taking ‘glamping’ into an utterly new realm.

The second venture by creative duo Christian and Carolyn Van Outersterp, whose Jollydays Glamping site changed the face of luxury British camping forever, masterfully combines the freedom of the wilderness with all the indulgence of a boutique hotel.

Inspired by Christian’s North American heritage and his Canadian grandmother’s tales of the American Great Camps built for wealthy industrialists in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, they were keen to recapture the serenity and indulgence of the era and provide a true escape from the intensity of modern life.

Featuring eight timber cabins, each nestled in their own perfect pocket of pristine primary woodland, the suites contain all the elements required for an intimate, relaxing boutique experience completely immersed in nature. Rustic four poster beds lovingly handcrafted from tree boughs and spa style bathrooms complete with luxury organic locally produced bath products, all add to the unique exclusivity of the experience, whilst the cosy wood burning stoves and bathroom heating create cabins that are seasonally glorious all year round.

However, it is the newly launched Star Suite that really steals the show. Complete with all of the luxury and artisan hints of its fellow lodgings, The Star Suite also comes complete with its very own infra-red sauna and decadent freestanding copper bath with private views out onto the stunning woodland surroundings. Capturing that little piece of luxury and romance embodied by a bath perfectly designed for two, the Cuprosa Bateau bath gleams against the sultry dark slate of the interior, creating a stunning central feature, blissful to bathe in and enchantingly romantic.

The woodland is a rugged environment, treasured by its new guardians and left as untouched as possible. Stone paths meander their way through the delicately lit forest, private verandas bathe in gentle candlelight, and peacocks and hares have been known to greet guests on their porches over morning coffee.
