Situated in the glorious Garden of England, commanding spectacular views from its magnificent hilltop location, The Royal Wells Hotel is steeped in Victorian elegance, features and history. Owing its name to Queen Victoria who frequented the establishment in the 19th century as a princess, the young Victoria was so fond of The Royal Wells that she later granted the use of her coat of arms which is still displayed at the top of the building in pride of place.

A short walk from the lively and charming town centre, just a stone’s throw away is also a myriad of cultural and historical delights to explore, including the former residence of King Henry the VIII, the childhood home of Anne Boleyn, not to mention the fairytale magic of the 14th century Scotney Castle. The Royal Wells Hotel is undoubtedly part of one of the most iconic and romantic historical sites in England.

Following a fabulous £2.4 million recent refurbishment, the hotel is a stunning example of modern style and comfort working in harmony with its glorious Victorian character and elegant period features. The interiors strike a perfect balance between contemporary and traditional. Delicate tones, plush fabrics, and stylish furnishings, shot through with the occasional splash of vibrant colour create a relaxing yet striking and elegant design.

William Hollands Cuprosa Bateau bath with Tin interior was selected for the Royals Wells Feature room, adding an element of grandeur and luxury to the designs classic elegance. Perfect for special occasions or when you simply need that extra element of indulgence, there is no doubt the romance of the French inspired bateau bath – perfectly designed for two – creates a decadent ambience.

The soft tones of the feature suite, with gentle creams and cappuccino tints create a warm and subtle backdrop that accentuate the aesthetic glow of the pure copper bath, whilst the gorgeous renovated fireplace is like a secret liaison with the nostalgia of the past.

Add a secluded courtyard garden, an atrium brasserie bathed in sunlight serving seasonal menus using the best local produce from Kent’s abundant fields, brimming orchards and stunning coastline, and The Royal Wells is a refined yet welcoming slice of classic British heritage at its absolute best.

“The £2.4 million transformation of The Royal Wells in Tunbridge Wells is Shepherd Neame’s single largest refurbishment project to date, and suppliers were very carefully selected. We chose to work with William Holland principally because their products are finished in the UK, so I was sure the quality control would be to a very high standard. William Holland were also able to offer in-depth technical advice, ensuring that we selected the correct bath, finish and specification, down to the overflow. Delivery was prompt and the price very competitive. The bath is a fantastic feature and we are very happy that we chose William Holland.” – Martin Godden
