Part of The Lucky Onion group and brainchild of Sam and Georgie Pearman, The Wheatsheaf is a lovingly restored 17th century stone coaching inn set in the heart of the Cotswolds at the market town of Northleach.

Impeccably unique, every detail of the interior has been hand chosen by Georgina to create a stylish and contemporary boutique style whilst maintaining the rustic charm and relaxed country vibe of the inns heritage. Once a raucous venue in the days of old, housing travellers, highwayman and merry local characters telling colourful drunken tales and accommodating all manner of licentious revelry, the Inn is now a more sophisticated affair yet staying true to its welcoming historical charm and still very much rooted in the local community.

With everything designed in-house from beer mats, to menus and interiors, The Wheatsheaf is characteristic of The Lucky Onion group’s commitment to style, charm and quality. Their 14 renovated rooms feature lush, deep, luxurious carpets, country-themed wall coverings and William Holland freestanding copper baths in the generously proportioned bathrooms, set against a classic, gentle palette of olive greens, dusky blues, slate greys and natural materials. Complimented by the range of locally produced bath products sourced and created from the British countryside, you have a unique, country boutique accommodation experience proudly supporting and joyful of all things local, creative, luxurious and unique.

Passionate about all things interesting and artisan, menus are simple and rustic, free from pretention but with a commitment to the highest quality local, seasonal produce, focused on taste and generosity designed to satisfy to a degree of homely content. Menu’s change daily so there is always something new to experience along with a fabulous array of craft beers served in the Flagstone bar. With many varieties from around the globe, ever supportive of exceptional local craft and produce, The Wheatsheaf also serves the locally brewed Bobby Beer (the only British premium lager) and the first ever organic draft cider from Dunkerton’s of Herefordshire.

You would be forgiven for not wishing to leave your room or the grounds of the hotel, considering the glorious freestanding Copper baths designed for long relaxing soaks, the sumptuous Hypnos beds, generously proportioned sinkably soft sofas, award winning food and craft beers, but The Wheatsheaf is perfectly placed for countryside pursuits. Delightful villages, a jam-packed calendar of local events and festivals, a world famous racecourse and numerous stately homes to explore and you have the ultimate country retreat destination.
